Car Connectivity Consortium - Building Digital Key Solution for Automotive
This document describes the scope of Car Connectivity Consortium’s (CCC) ongoing standardization activities for the use of smart devices as keys. There is an abundance of smart devices in the market and many companies are investing to enable the use of these devices as keys. This is the driving force behind CCC’s technical standardization work. The initial focus for CCC is the usage of digital keys in the automotive industry, but the technology is not limited to a specific industry and can be used for other applications such as hotels, real state, fleet management, car sharing etc. The guiding principle for using smart devices as keys is consumer convenience and ease of use. Digital keys are not intended to completely replace traditional car keys, at least initially, but rather to enhance convenience and functionality for consumers.

FIME – Building a Trusted Embedded SIM Testing Framework in the Age of IOT
The launch of the GSMA’s Embedded SIM Specification, together with its accompanying test specification, is bringing a variety of new stakeholders into the embedded SIM integration testing environment for commercial internet of things (IoT) deployments. In a bid to support ‘the uninitiated’ this eBook provides an introduction to embedded SIM integration testing and explores key requirements based on FIME’s work to develop a trusted testing framework that will underpin this new and exciting age of IoT.

UL Transaction Security - The Future of SIM
This white paper investigates the business and technical aspects behind the emergence of new technologies such as removable reprogrammable SIMs, embedded SIMs and further initiatives to determine what they mean for the consumer, the telecoms industry as a whole and indeed the future of the SIM. They could impact the future of the SIM card to the point that it completely disappears and all handsets remove SIM slots in favor of these new emerging technologies, to deliver the concept of ‘service portability’. Service portability is the ability to move the subscribers account and services seamlessly from one MNO to another offering the best level of service at the most competitive cost.

FIME – TSM: Friend or Foe of the NFC Marketplace?
This latest white paper from FIME explores the role of TSMs in supporting the delivery of NFC services internationally. It discusses the market drivers for the expansion of NFC services across borders, the value and challenges of creating a standardized and globally interoperable framework for TSMs, and how such an environment could be tested and validated.

The white paper details a number of different TSM standards that are available within the marketplace to promote global interoperability, most notably from GlobalPlatform. FIME states in the white paper that testing will be at the heart of building a stable and secure TSM infrastructure that promotes confidence.

NFC Forum and IATA – NFC Reference Guide for Air Travel
NFC Forum and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have been working together to evaluate adoption of near field communication (NFC) technology by the air travel industry. As such, the NFC Forum's Air Transport Task Force and IATA's Fast Travel Working Group have developed a white paper, which helps the global air travel industry better understand and evaluate the potential benefits and costs, use cases, and implementation options associated with adoption of NFC technology.

The NFC Reference Guide for Air Travel describes numerous practical applications of NFC associated with the air traveller's journey, with particular focus on core use cases related to provisioning and redemption of boarding passes. The document references GlobalPlatform's Specifications with regards to the secure element and trusted execution environment.

Trusted Labs - Security Evaluation of Trusted Execution Environments: Why and How?
GlobalPlatform member, Trusted Labs, has developed a white paper titled 'Security Evaluation of Trusted Execution Environments (TEE): Why and How?'. The paper asserts that the evaluation of a TEE is a critical step towards developing more secure devices thereby allowing service providers and consumers to benefit from trustworthy environments.

GlobalPlatform has identified that defining a security certification scheme is a key factor for the adoption of TEEs by the mobile market. To address this need, the GlobalPlatform Device Committee has defined a Common Criteria Protection Profile (PP) for TEEs. The availability of a PP greatly facilitates the preparation of an evaluation, however, as a TEE interacts with many different components, it is necessary to carefully define its boundaries, interactions with its environment and the assumptions made on this environment.

This paper reviews the benefits of TEE security evaluations for all actors in the ecosystem, provides an overview of the GlobalPlatform TEE Protection Profile and outlines a methodology for the evaluation of TEEs based on this protection profile.

FIME - The NFC SECURITY QUIZ 2.0 - UPDATED WITH HCE & TOKENIZATION: Seven Key Questions Answered Regarding Today’s Security Framework For Delivering Sensitive NFC Mobile Services
Focused on GlobalPlatform's work to clarify and simplify the security certification process, the paper explains how the security framework for delivering near field communication (NFC) services needs to evolve to meet the business and technical needs of all NFC stakeholders. The white paper details: the GlobalPlatform Composition Model, which streamlines the security evaluation of SEs to shorten product time to market and lower the cost of the certification process; and the GlobalPlatform TEE Protection Profile, which identifies the security needs for the TEE.

The document contends that stakeholders must understand liabilities, undertake a risk assessment, seek clarity on areas of responsibility and investigate ways to optimize security; creating a 'security chain', which FIME believes every actor engaged in NFC must support.

Trusted Computing Group - TPM MOBILE with GlobalPlatform defined Trusted Execution Environment for Comprehensive Mobile Device Security
In 2012, GlobalPlatform and the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) created a joint work group to enable the sharing of expertise and collaboration around mobile device industry standards.

The added richness and connectivity of today's connected smart devices brings with it the problem of increased malware. In order to take full advantage of the potential of these devices, the industry must be able to control those risks. Two key platform security technologies have emerged from the TCG and GlobalPlatform standards initiatives which address the increasing rise of software threats that face smart connected devices.

This white paper introduces how GlobalPlatform trusted execution environment (TEE) standards and TCG Mobile Trusted Module (TPM MOBILE) can work together in mobile devices to provide security, peace of mind and enhanced services to users.
