Trainers

Programs will be led by experienced trainers from GlobalPlatform member organizations who have been carefully selected after demonstrating a detailed understanding of GlobalPlatform technology and its real-world application. Please see below details on GlobalPlatform's certified trainers:

Gil Bernabeu, GlobalPlatform Technical Director

Mr. Bernabeu is the Technical Advisor for the Standardization and Technology Department at Gemalto. In this role, he supports Gemalto's marketing and product groups in the field of multiple application infrastructure. Mr. Bernabeu was elected as GlobalPlatform's Technical Director in 2005. His main role is to drive forward the development of GlobalPlatform's smart card specifications and related technical initiatives. Mr. Bernabeu also acts as GlobalPlatform's central technical liaison point, coordinating the efforts of the organization's three technical committees - Card, Device and Systems - and the GlobalPlatform Task Forces. Mr. Bernabeu is an official GlobalPlatform trainer.

Jean-Philippe Amiel

Mr. Amiel is the Director of Nextendis and a Senior Consultant with both technology and domain expertise. He provides consultancy for a number of large companies in their deployment strategy for mobile services. Since 2005, Mr. Amiel has been monitoring the evolution of GlobalPlatform technology, bringing his expertise to large mobile network operator groups and public transport operators through the coordination of the Ulysse initiative, which is aimed at specifying the usage of transport ticketing on NFC phones.

Nextendis is a Consultant Member of GlobalPlatform and actively contributes to the work of the association's Mobile Task Force.

Evelyne Babel

Ms. Babel is a Senior Consultant and the Co-founder of Monetech. She is involved in NFC initiatives both in the field of specifications and project implementations. Ms. Babel wrote the technical specifications of Ulysse which defines a transport ticketing application on NFC mobile and recently helped the Association Française du Sans Contact Mobile in writing specifications that are common to the three French mobile network operators for the deployment of NFC services. Both rely on GlobalPlatform technology for application management.

Monetech is a Consultant Member of GlobalPlatform and is actively involved in the work of the Mobile Task Force.

Henry Castellan

Mr. Castellan is the Associate Director and Co-founder of Monetech. He is a senior expert consultant in smart card technology related to the transport, banking and retail markets. Mr. Castellan has recently led major NFC projects in France, Europe and Japan and is involved in the first French NFC commercial pilot, Nice Ville du NFC Mobile. Mr. Castellan is a former technical trainer and has conducted training sessions on USIM cards, over-the-air (OTA) provisioning and GlobalPlatform's Card Specifications.

Monetech is a Consultant Member of GlobalPlatform and actively contributes to the activities of the Mobile Task Force.

Choukri Charni

Mr. Charni is a Consultant at Nextendis with expertise in payment systems including EMV transactions and contactless payments, transport ticketing, NFC services and authorization server processes for both issuer and acquirer domains. He has contributed to a number of NFC and contactless projects and studies, covering contactless transit payments, remote mobile payments and NFC mobile proximity payments. Throughout 2007-8, Mr. Charni was involved in developing technical specifications for transport ticketing on NFC mobile for the Ulysse Working Group.

Mike Neumann

Mr. Neumann is the President of Agile Set, LLC, with experience in multi-application card operating systems, application architecture, card manufacturing, pre-personalization and software, and service delivery project management. Mr. Neumann has contributed to US and international standards work since 2003, primarily as the editor of ISO/IEC 24727-3 since 2005.

Agile Set, LLC is contracted by GlobalPlatform to provide editing services to the GlobalPlatform technical working groups. Mr. Neumann has served as editor for the GlobalPlatform Card Specification Working Group since May 2008.
