GlobalPlatform Based Solutions: In the Card arena, Gemalto provides a full range of GlobalPlatform compliant cards. For the mobile industry, USIMERA CLASSIC 3 and GemXplore 3G supports GlobalPlatform Card Specification v2.0.1. GlobalPlatform Card Specification v2.1.1 is also supported in the new GemXplore Generations product range. In the ID and Financial business area, the GemXpresso family provides a high level of security for our customers. As an example, the recently released SafesITe Government's FIPS 201 compliant smart badges offer a dual interface card (contactless and contact interfaces on the same chip) based on GlobalPlatform Card 2.1.1 standards. In the Device arena, Gemalto has always been committed to providing cost effective technology that will improve its customer profitability and competitiveness with a high focus on the cost of ownership and time-to-market. The Singula platform is a STIP-compliant Operating System developed by Gemalto for its MagIC Evolution terminal range.

GlobalPlatform Implementation Programs: OMAN - The Sultanate of Oman's national ID card program is the first smart card-based citizen ID solution ever to be deployed in the Middle East, making it a landmark project of its kind. The contract appointed Gemplus to provide an integrated turnkey solution comprising of hardware, software and smart cards as well as training and skill transfer services to the ROP staff.
