Company Overview: Calton Hill Ltd is a company specializing in trusted applications software for GlobalPlatform-compliant devices. These applications range from security sensitive services for mobile phones, e.g. Digital Rights Management, to payment and loyalty applications for EFT-POS terminals. Calton Hill has been an active member of the GlobalPlatform Device Committee and its predecessor the STIP Consortium since 2002. Calton Hill acted as editor during development and publication of the GPD/STIP v2.2 specifications and as principal author of the GPD/STIP User Guide and the GPD/STIP Test Plan.

GlobalPlatform Based Solutions: The Calton Hill DRM client solution for mobile phones is an OMA DRM v2.0 compliant application. It is written to the GPD/STIP v2.2 Mobile Profile API. It enables mobile operators and mobile phone manufacturers to offer content providers real protection for their valued music, videos and games. The Calton Hill client API provides a secure interface to enable applications developers to embed the DRM client within their own value added solutions. Calton Hill has also developed card payment terminal solutions based on the SmartPOS library from Visa. These are written to the GPD/STIP v2.2 EFT/POS Profile API.


GlobalPlatform's GPD/STIP specifications provide the best possible basis for interoperability of security-sensitive applications on mobile phones and payment terminals.
