Task Forces
GlobalPlatform has the ability to create Task Force groups when members, through their engagement in the Advisory Council, identify the need to dedicate resources to defining GlobalPlatform's role within a particular market sector or relevant to a specific application. Task Forces provide a platform for strategic discussion and collaboration between all members of GlobalPlatform - regardless of membership level - on a targeted area of interest. Task Forces also seek collaboration with other industry bodies relevant to their central focus to ensure that GlobalPlatform's direction is aligned with wider industry efforts. If a Task Force determines that the GlobalPlatform Specifications or other technical documentation needs to be updated in line with emerging market or application requirements, feedback is presented to the relevant technical committee, for consideration and progression. The Task Force might subsequently provide ongoing market or application specific guidance to the technical committee to ensure synergy between long-term technical output and evolving industry demands.
